New Senior Consultants Join Gifted Philanthropy

This month Gifted welcomes two new senior consultants to the fundraising team.

This month Gifted welcomes two new senior consultants to the fundraising team. Adela Appleby and Sue Sargent are both established professionals, bringing with them a wealth of experience in the Health and Education Sectors.

Adela was responsible for income generation at Marie Curie Cancer Care and under her leadership the Charity delivered on the strategic aim of reaching £30 million annual revenue from the organisation’s ten hospices. In 2007, she was appointed Head of Regional Fundraising at the Royal Mencap Society, and later went on to become Head of Charity at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW). Since 2016, she has been engaged as Head of Charity with University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, tasked with developing the Charity and ensuring excellent governance and sustainable financial growth.

We are delighted that Adela is joining the team to manage a major capital fundraising campaign for Treetops Hospice in South Derbyshire.

With an equally impressive fundraising portfolio, this time in the Education sector, Sue joins us with over 15 years’ experience with leading UK universities. In 2013, after overseeing the development activities at the University of Warwick, she moved to Loughborough, where she was appointed as Director of Development responsible for growing the University’s fundraising and alumni relations functions at home and overseas. At Loughborough she also held the positions of Deputy Director, in charge of the major gifts fundraising team, and Senior Development Officer, where she helped to establish the major giving programme.

“Sue and Adela are both superb new additions to our team of senior consultants at Gifted,” says Chief Executive, Andrew Day. “Their knowledge and expertise, gained in two of the Third Sector’s most interesting and challenging areas will be of tremendous benefit to our clients across the board."

If your organisation has a fundraising challenge that would benefit from independent, professional advice, please get in touch and ask for an initial, no-obligations discussion with one of our directors.
