Rotherham Civic Theatre

Rotherham Civic Theatre may be about to turn 65 but it has absolutely no plans to retire. Since 1960, when its first production was staged by Rotherham Rep, the Theatre has become a much-loved cultural asset and, for many, the only affordable means of experiencing high-quality arts and entertainment.
The Brief
When the Theatre engaged us in October 2024, our brief was to advise The Council on how to build on this success by bringing more local people into the Theatre family, whether as members, strategic partners or corporate sponsors. Crucially, the case for support needed to convey the benefits of belonging to a jewel of a theatre that does so much to enrich lives locally.
“The strategic work we conducted revealed clear opportunities for the Theatre to grow its corporate partnerships and launch a bespoke membership programme,” says Amy Stevens. “Both these initiatives promise to generate additional revenue for the Theatre, which can be reinvested into productions, facilities and outreach programmes.”
Through developing a commercial package of sponsorships and membership benefits, Rotherham Civic Theatre also wants to attract more diverse audiences and celebrate the joy of live theatre at the heart of the community.
