Whale Wise

Whale Wise is dedicated to advancing marine mammal conservation through scientific research, advocacy and public engagement. Working predominantly in Iceland, the charity seeks to understand the complex interactions between whales and human activity, focusing on evidence-based protection, sustainable practices and the involvement of local communities.

Since its foundation, Whale Wise has largely been run on a voluntary basis, with any income covering running costs or directed at specific research projects. The charity is now looking to create a more sustainable plan for its future, by focusing on unrestricted philanthropic gifts towards core costs of around £100,000. Gifted has been appointed to help with this task by developing a clear fundraising strategy, reviewing the charity’s website and undertaking additional funder research.
